The Woddlers program is for children ages 12 months to 24 months. We have created this program to be a nurturing space that supports the developmental needs of each child such as large motor - walking, throwing a ball, etc., simple vocabulary development, independence, gaining a classroom routine, and acquiring self help skills. Classrooms are set up so children can learn to how to solve problems by sorting objects, doing puzzles, taking things apart and fitting them back together, and so much more! Teachers offer children a range of activities and experiences that inspire and challenge them.
Our Toddlers program is designed for those ages 20 months-36 months and we focus on emotional development, learning self-help skills, fine and gross motor skills, small group time that will consist of fun and interactive songs and short books. Teachers model behaviors like sharing and talking through emotions so toddlers can learn by example. They give your child opportunities to try new social skills and to try doing things for his/herself. Teachers encourage children and help them express their feelings in positive, healthy ways.
The Hoppers program is created for children ages 2.5-4 years old. At this age, we understand most kids love to move—climbing, jumping, dancing! Teachers offer your child many ways to be active, both indoors and outdoors. They also provide materials and activities that interest children this age and help improve hand coordination, like scribbling with crayons and stacking toys.
Three and four year olds who are potty trained and or working on potty training will be in our Blossoms room. Here, we will focus on classroom structure and learning to follow a daily routine. Teachers spend a lot of time teaching letters, numbers, and introduce writing activities. They read books with simple stories and use songs, rhymes, and finger plays that have repeating patterns.
Our Sprouts preschool class is for children ages 4-5. This classroom is a potty-trained classroom, meaning everyone must be completely potty trained. Teachers will introduce children to a classroom structure designed with a curriculum that will help prepare your child for kindergarten by focusing on handwriting, letter names and sounds, learning numbers and counting, math skills, early literacy skills like sight words , and patterns. Teachers will promote cooperative play to learn problem solving through lesson plans that teach children to use reasoning and develop manners and social skills.
All ages will exceed the state of Tennessee's minimum requirement for outdoor play.
While we like to focus on play-based learning, we embrace a learning environment that will prepare them for the path ahead. All programs incorporate traditional learning styles as well as hands-on experiences. Here, we support responsive caregiving, provide structure and predictability, promote child engagement, independence and feelings of competence, and strongly encourage staff efficiency. Curriculums will be built around the TN-ELDS standards and developmental milestones set by the CDC, but also tailored to fit the needs of the children.
